Brief On Confluence University of Science and Technology
The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, is the one who spearheaded the establishment of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara.
It was the recurrent ordeal of gaining admissions into Nigerian Universities by the citizens of the Kogi State, especially the secondary school leavers who desired to pursue careers in science and technology-related specializations, and other dreams in the higher institutions, that gave birth to this desire of founding the Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, Osara.
Moreover, the citizens of Kogi State who scored impressive high marks in UTME were still finding it difficult to secure admissions into their dream courses such as medicine, engineering, and pharmacy, which become commonplace and increasingly traumatizing.
Confluence University of Science and Technology was established in November 2020. It is a Kogi State-owned university that was established as the 51st State University in Nigeria.
The pioneer Vice Chancellor of the institution is Engr. Professor Salawu Sadiku started the first academic session of the university in December 2020. The university took off campus in March 2021 with the School of Preliminary Studies of Kogi State Polytechnic, Osara.
In June 2021, the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), commenced its first full-time academic session on its permanent site at Osara, with 235 students as the first set of students admitted into the university.
The university started with just 12 (twelve) programs, including Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Cyber security science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Chemistry.
CUSTECH’s mission is to provide a good conducive teaching and learning environment for teachers and learners in sustaining critical thinking culture as well as discover knowledge preserve and exchange, and promote strategic values for the intellectual development of humanity in general and the national large, while its vision is to become a reputable world-class institution that will produce highly skilled, globally competitive graduates who will become practical problem-solvers.
CUSTECH UTME Admission Requirements

- Only candidates who sat for the UTME exercise will be considered for admission
- Such candidates must have scored the approved National minimum score for UTME university admissions;
- All applicants must choose the correct UTME subject combinations according to the JAMB Brochure.
- Applicants must possess at least five ‘O’ Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics
- Any Result of more than two sittings will not be accepted
