An Overview of Cross River State University (CRUTECH)
The Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH), was established in August 2002, by the Cross River State Government. The University is led by Prof. Augustine Oko Angba the current Vice-Chancellor of the University.
The Cross River University of Technology is an offspring of three mergers, former tertiary institutions which include (The Polytechnic, Calabar, the College of Education, Akamkpa, and the Ibrahim Babangida College of Agriculture, Ovonum, in Obubra), owned by the Government of Cross River State.
CRUTECH was established with the vision of pursuing basic training and research and imparting research skills to equip Nigerians of various backgrounds in all areas of technology and to provide enormous natural resources for the sustainable development of Cross River State.
The law that established the Cross River University of Technology provides for 5 campuses. The five campuses are: Calabar Campus, which is the Main Campus, is located at EkpoAbasi Street in Calabar South Local Government Area, the Obubra Campus is located at Ovonum in Obubra Local Government Area, while the Ogoja Campus is located at Ogoja in Ogoja Local Government Area, and the Okuku Campus located at Okuku in Yala Local Government Area, along Ogoja – Abakaliki road.

CRUTECH UTME Admission Requirements
One thing every prospective student needs to know is that writing JAMB and Post UTME is one thing, but getting admission into the university is another thing altogether. So for you to gain admission into CRUTECH, via UTME applicants must meet the requirements below:
- Expected applicants must be up to sixteen (16) years of age.
- Applicants must also possess at least 5 (five Credits) passes in their Ordinary Level result (s), in either WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, including English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects related to their course of study. Two sitting O’level is not accepted.
If for instance, a student wants to study Medicine, he or she must have credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry,
- Applicants’ scores in the JAMB UTME examination, must reach the institution’s accepted cut of marks.
- Applicants must choose subject combinations that tally with their courses of study.
- The candidate must score up to the required cut-off mark that is required for the course they want to study, in the school.

Admission Requirement for CRUTECH Direct Entry
The following admission requirements must be met by Direct Entry applicants before they are considered for admission:
- The applicant must present the JAMB Direct Entry form from JAMB’s official website
- The expected applicant must be up to sixteen (16) years of age.
- Applicants must also possess at least 5 (five Credits) passes in their Ordinary level results, in either WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, including English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects related to their course of study. Two sitting O’level is not accepted.
- Direct Entry, applicants must have any of the certificates below: OND, NCE, Cambridge A level, IJMB, BSc, and HND
