COOU’s main campus is located at Uli, where the Ekwenugo Okeke Polytechnic, was formerly situated and known as the Anambra State Polytechnic. The second campus is located at Igbariam where the former College of Agriculture was sited. After the state government established the university, COOU inherited the assets of the state polytechnic, as its second campus.

About Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University

In case you do not know, let me use this little time to inform you that, before now, COOU, was a state-owned university known as the Anambra State University (ANSU) Uli, and was later named after the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU)

The school has been officially accredited and recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC) of Nigeria. The University was established by law No. 13 of 2000 by the Anambra State Government. It has several different campuses thus; the Uli campus, the Alor campus, and the Igbariam campus

To immortalize the leader of the breakaway Republic of Biafra, the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the Anambra State House of Assembly, on 11 September 2014, passed a bill that changed the name of the university from Anambra State University (ANSU), to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli.

COOU Admission Requirements for UTME Candidates

One thing every prospective student needs to know is that writing JAMB and Post UTME is one thing, but getting admission into the university is another thing altogether. So for you to gain admission into COOU, via UTME applicants must meet the requirements below:

Expected applicants must be up to sixteen (16) years of age.
Applicants must also possess at least (5) five Credits) pass in their Ordinary Level result (s), in either WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, including English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects related to their course of study. Two sitting O’level is not accepted.

If for instance, a student wants to study Medicine, he or she must have credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry,

Applicants’ scores in the JAMB UTME examination, must reach at least 180 and above.
Applicants must choose subject combinations that tally with their courses of study.
The candidate must score up to the required cut-off mark that is required for the course they want to study. In the school.

COOU Admission Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

The following admission requirements must be met by Direct Entry applicants before they are considered for admission:

The applicant must present the JAMB Direct Entry form from JAMB’s official website
1. Expected applicant must be up to sixteen (16) years of age.
Applicants must also possess at least (5) five Credits) pass in their Ordinary level results, in either WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, including English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects related to their course of study. Two sitting Ordi’level is not accepted.
Direct Entry, applicants must have any of the certificates below: OND, NCE, Cambridge A level, IJMB, BSc, and HND.

Campuses/Faculties at COOU

COOU has about 10 (ten) faculties, but they are not situated on the same campus. They are located on three different campuses thus; the Uli campus, the Alor campus, and the Igbariam campus. Each campus houses three to five faculties of the school. See them below:
