POLAC School Fees Schedule – The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil is a Federal University that trains Police Officers to serve in the Nigerian Police Force.

A Brief History Of POLAC

The inception of POLAC, as the University is often called, goes way back to the early 1980s.

In 1981, the Nigerian Government had asked that the British Government provide some Police Officers from the United Kingdom to access and subsequently, cater to the training needs of the Nigeria Police.

As a reply to this request, a group of three British Police Officers headed by ‘M.A. H Pacy’ (who was at the moment, an Assistant constable with Humberside Police) was sent by the British Government to Nigeria.

This team, in 1982, submitted its report which is often known as “the pacy report” to the Nigerian Government.

This report went on to be formally published as the white paper of the Nigerian Federal Government, on the Nigeria Police Force’s future training needs.

Further, the follow-up of this report resulted in the search for the most efficient training orientation for the Nigeria Police.

However, in 1986, Alhaji Mohammed A Gambo who was the then Inspector General of Police sent a team of three Nigeria Police Officers headed by Late Assistant Inspector General (AIG) S.Z Daura to Egypt to observe and critically study the Egyptian Nigeria Police Academy.

The outcome of the research and the recommendations of these two groups of experts played a significant role in laying the foundation for the founding of what is now known as the Nigeria Nigeria Police Academy, Kano.

This institution was created to serve as a beacon of top-notch manpower development, with the core mission of training Officers of the Police Force to attain the highest possible standards of professionalism.

The institution officially commenced operation in 1988 at two temporary campuses simultaneously:

One was the Police Training School, Challawa, Kano which served as a training facility for cadet inspectors; and the other was the Police College, Kaduna where the training of Cadet ASPs (Assistant Superintendent of Police) was conducted.

The merger of the two Institutions and its relocation to its permanent site as Wudil in Kano State only took place after it was formerly commissioned by the then Head of State and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, General Sanni Abacha, GCON, dss, mni, on the 2nd Day of April 1996.

The current Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy is Assistant Inspector General Of Police, Ahmad Abdurrahman, psc (+), mni.

The key aims of establishing this institution include:

The provision of a facility that is capable of producing qualitative manpower, especially at the middle level of the force like the ASP and Inspectorate Cadre in order to cater to the personnel deficiencies of the Nigeria Police Force.

To arm trainees and students of this institution with sufficient competencies founded on a solid academic background, high moral standards, and high professionalism to enhance effective law enforcement and service to the nation.

Note that you are not required to pay any school fees during the course of your study at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil.

The cost of your tuition while at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil is borne by the Federal Government.

What is POLAC’s cut-off point for 2023/2024?

The Governing Council of POLAC has set the cut-off point at 180 for the current session.

As such, all Candidates who scored a minimum of 180 in the just concluded UTME Exams have met the cut-off point requirement of the University for Admission Consideration.

Does POLAC accept second choice Admission Applications?

The Nigeria Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil does not accept second-choice applications.

To be considered eligible for Admission consideration, ensure to make them your first choice Institution during your registration.

After completing your Academic Program at POLAC, you are entitled to a Bachelor’s Degree in the field in which you studied.

This would be offered to you subsequently after graduation.

How much does the Admission form of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil cost?

To enroll in any of the available academic programs at POLAC, you will be required to purchase and complete accordingly the Academy’s Admission Application Form.

Although you would not be required to pay fees during the course of your studies at the institution, you are required to purchase this form at the rate of N3,000 only.
