About the University of Nsukka

The University of Nigeria Nsukka was founded in 1955 by the premier of the then Eastern Region,  Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, but it was formally opened in 1960 when Nigeria was celebrating its independence.UNN 

 It is the first autonomous, indigenous university in Nigeria. the university has three campuses in Enugu State, and one campus in Aba Abia State, they are :

• Nsukka campus,
• Enugu campus, 
• And Ituku-Ozalla campus
• Aba campus in Abia State

The institution is boosting 36,000 (Thirty-six thousand students) and 1,519 (one thousand five hundred and fifteen) active working staff. It has Professor Charles Igwe Arizechukwu as its Vice Chancellor, and its motto is, to restore the dignity of man.

UNN Undergraduates Admissions

Every admission into the university for Bachelor’s degree programs is done through:

1. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), 
2. Direct entry 
3. And through pre-degree programs. 

Important Note: All candidates must make sure they pass through the UNN screening processes to be considered for any admission. Now, what are the admission requirements for applicants?

UNN Admission Requirements for UTME Candidates

Every aspiring student of the institution is required to meet certain admission requirements before they will be considered for admission into the university, and requirements are as follows:

• You must obtain a minimum of five (5) credit passes in your SSCE results, be it WAEC, GCE, or NECO, this includes English language and Mathematics
• Your SSCE result should not be more than two sittings.
• You must score up to the required Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination
• You must write JAMB and reach the JAMB cut-off mark
• UNN must be your first-choice university

UNN Admission Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

Every aspiring student of the institution is required to meet certain admission requirements before they will be considered for admission into the university, and requirements are as follows:

• You must obtain a minimum of five (5) credit passes in your SSCE results, be it WAEC, GCE, or NECO, this includes English language and Mathematics
• Your SSCE result should not be more than two sittings.
• You must score up to the required Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination
• Candidates must have merit or credit if they are National Certificat Examination NCE holders 
• Candidates must have an upper credit for those with the Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
• Apart from the general requirements of the school, every candidate must meet other additional requirements of the department or faculty of their course of study.
