An Overview of Akwa Ibom State University
The establishment of Akwa Ibom State University kick-off in October 2000, This was achieved after the State Government set up a committee that brought about the establishment of the university. The University was officially founded and opened in 2010 to pioneer students to start their academic journey.
The AKSU pioneer students that started the school, were admitted into the Faculties of Architecture, Natural & Applied Sciences, Engineering, Oceanography, and Agriculture. It was in the 2011/2012 academic year that the school admitted more students into the faculty of social and management science, which was introduced.
The Akwa Ibom State University is made up of two campuses, they include: The main campus is situated at Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, it has a border with Ikot Akpaden – Eastern Obolo road and Eket – Ikot Abasi highway, while the other campus is situated at Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam Local Government Area, along Abak – Ikot Okoro Road.

AKSU Tuition Fees Payment Procedure
This step-by-step payment procedure should be followed by the student for successful fee payment:
- Log into AKSU portal http://www.portal.aksu.edu.ng/
- Enter your PASSWORD and your JAMB REGISTRATION NUMBER on the student’s login tab
- Proceed to the dashboard, and click payment.
- Then select the level and semester you are paying for before clicking on payment.
- Select and click payment platform (i.e bank)
- Finally, print the pre-analysis and move to any commercial bank of choice, and make your school fee payment e-Tranzact platform.
Students are advised to their school fees early enough before the stipulated deadline because late payment would attract extra penalties and failure to pay the fees on time will result in the student’s inability to sit/write for their semester examination. All late payments and charges should be made at any branch of the banks listed below.
