Umeå University is a public University of Research located in Umeå, in the mid-northern region of the Swedish Nation. Founded in 1965, it is the fifth oldest University within Sweden’s present borders.

Several opportunities abound for non-European Students to be awarded scholarships in the Umeå master programmes in public health.
These scholarships cover tuition fees as well as living expenses (for the Swedish Institute’s scholarships).

Successfully selected candidates will receive a full or partial waiver of the tuition fee to study at Umeå University in Sweden.

Umeå University Scholarships Requirements
Just like other scholarships, the management of Umeå University has set out standards to be met before an applicant is considered fit to participate in this scholarship programme.
Without wasting much of your time, you can proceed with an application for this scholarship if you:
- Are a native of a country outside of the European Union and Switzerland.
- Have completed your application for programme studies at the master’s level (before the application deadline of 17 January) and have paid the application fee by the 1st February 2023 deadline
- Possess the University programme as priority 1 on the University’s Admissions website (SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE SCHOOL WEBSITE)
However, the selection process for this scholarship is generally determined by the applicant’s academic merit and shall be handled by a committee created by the Vice-Chancellor of the Swedish University.
How to Apply for Umeå University Scholarships
Upon the release of the university’s scholarship application form, emails containing the application instructions for the scholarship will be sent to all eligible students.
Nevertheless, it’s only applicants with a Umeå University programme as priority 1 or second-year master students at Umeå University (i.e. students who are currently in their first master’s year) are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
