Before the name was changed, Usumanu Dnfodiyo University was known as the University of Sokoto. This university is owned by the federal government of Nigeria and is located in Sokoto State. The university has been officially offered full accreditation by the National University CXommission, NUC.
UDUSOK is a federal university that was founded in 1975 by the federal government of Nigeria, according to the 2011 statistics, the population of the university has risen to about 24,047 (twenty-four thousand, forty-seven students).
However, Rilwan Akiolu, Oba of Lagos, is the Chancellor of the university, while the responsibility of driving the school to its enviable height rests on the shoulder of Lawal Bilbis, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

- A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) or NECO
- The SSCE must not be more than 2 (two) sittings.
- Ensure that you choose the correct JAMB subject combination for your course.
- Candidates’ minimum score for the just concluded JAMB UTME examination must reach 180 before they will be offered admission into the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
- You must choose UDUSOK as your First Choice of Institution.
- All candidates are required to take part in the UDUSOK POST UTME/SCREENING to be considered for admission
- Candidates must reach the minimum age limit of 16 years and above.
- At the faculty level, you may be required to meet other additional requirements that may apply to the choice, of course, you may want to study.

If you are a Direct Entry candidate seeking admission at UDUSOK, below are the requirements you need to meet before you will be considered for admission into the university.
- A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) or NECO

- Ensure that you choose the correct JAMB subject combination for your course.

- They are also expected to purchase the Direct Entry form of UDUSOK through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board and UDUSOK Portal.
