Brief History of FUTB
The Federal University of Technology, Babura is situated in Jigawa State, and it is owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The main University campus is situated in Babura, Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Northwestern Nigeria.
The University is one of the four newest universities in Nigeria that was established in the second quarter of 2021 to expand and give more opportunities to science students in university education in Nigeria.
It also out to address the need to improve medical care delivery, accelerate its technological development, and ensure equity in the distribution of higher institutions of learning across the country.
The Federal University of Technology, Babura is situated in Jigawa State and was founded in 2021. At first, FUTB started at the Jigawa State College of Remedial and Advanced Studies (JICORAS), which served as its temporary University site.
And is working hard to move to its permanent site at 1 Km along the Babura – Kano Road, Babura town.
The Federal University of Technology, Babura has a blessed and qualified leadership team and staff, who oversee the affairs of the students and of the university at large, but the whole burden of the university lies on the shoild3r of Professor Sambo Ibrahim B/kudu, ph.D., Vice Chancellor of the University.
JAMB UTME Admission Requirements
In this section, we are going to look at the requirements that candidates need to meet to be considered for admission
- Candidate must have participated in the just concluded JAMB UTME and scored up to the JAMB required cut-off mark.
- Applicants should not be below the age of 16 years.
- They must also choose FUTB as their first choice institution
- Applicants must have 5 (five) credit passes in their SSCE result (s), Mathematics and English inclusive
- And their SSCE result (s) must not exceed two sittings
- All the students that the admission requirements of the university shall pass the screening interview that the university will conduct
- Apart from meeting the general requirements of the school, students must also meet the faculty and departmental requirements
- In the meantime, the University shall not accept transfer students, until at least the first two years of its existence.
Direct Entry Admission Requirements
In this section, we are going to look at the requirements that direct-entry candidates need to meet to be considered for admission
- Applicants should not be below the age of 16 years.
- They must also choose FUTB as their first choice institution
- Any direct entry student who did not choose FUTB as their first choice has to apply for a change of institution through the JAMB portal
- Applicants must have 5 (five) credit passes in their SSCE result (s), mathematics and English inclusive
- And their SSCE result (s) must not exceed two sittings
- All the students that the admission requirements of the university shall pass the screening interview that the university will conduct
- Apart from meeting the general requirements of the school, students must also meet the faculty and departmental requirements
- In the meantime, the University shall not accept transfer students, until at least the first two years of its existence.
- Candidates must possess an advanced-level certificate such as the OND, or its equivalents.
