Most of the Medical doctors in Nigeria work to work in government, especially the federal government hospitals because they know that they will receive better pay there than in the state-owned or privately owned hospitals. 

Doctors who work in federal government-owned hospitals earn bigger salaries than those in state and private hospitals, and that is why almost all doctors want to work with federal government-owned hospitals. Doctors of federal government-owned hospitals’ salaries are estimated between N5400,000 – N8400,000 for the consultants and those at the peak of the medical profession, but those at the lower cadre receive about N2640,000 – N3360,000.
