Overview of The DNUUMS

Because of the nature of challenges experienced in the health sector, this institution was conceived. The propelling force behind the establishment of the school was the government’s desire to enhance the quality of manpower development in the health sector and for the improvement of the quality of healthcare in Nigeria and in the West African sub-region, which gave birth to the establishment of this University.

Although, there are a lot of institutions in the country, one with the needed competence was what was sought. However, building critical competencies and expertise in the health sciences with a conducive learning environment that will bring the highest form of professionalism, ethics, and excellence, became the central development goal of the University. 

Furthermore, since the institution also wanted to avoid giving room to discrimination of any sort, it now resulted in a vision that was meant to achieve the highest form of quality manpower development for healthcare and other service delivery for all gender, race, religion, and socio-economic status. 

All things being equal, it was based on the aforementioned that excellence, respect, delivery, collaboration, innovation, accountability, learning, godliness, ethics, compassion, improvement, and sustainability, became the core values that the University seeks to uphold.

The university is situated at Uburu, Ohaozara local government of Ebonyi State. It has about seven faculties and offers about 23 (twenty-three courses), that students who are science inclined can apply for.

For work well done, and to immortalize the Governor’s unprecedented infrastructural development in the state and for his exemplary leadership, the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, named the university after the Governor of Ebonyi State His Excellency Governor David Nwaeze Umahi, the one who spearheaded the establishment of the university.

Among all the universities in Nigeria, the university was approved as the 197th University in Nigeria and the most beautiful University Complex in Africa, on the 7th of July 2021 as the David Nweze Umahi University of Medical Sciences by the NUC.

At inception, the university had eleven deans who head the different faculties of the school. And the principal leaders of the school are anchored on the shoulder of Professor JESSE UNEKE, the Vice Chancellor of the university.

  2. Click the acceptance fee menu
  3. Select pay acceptance fee with an ATM card
  4. Enter your JAMB registration number
  5. Select search button
  6. Enter your phone number
  7. Enter your email
  8. Click on the Continue tab
  9. Select payment with an ATM card
  10. Click on the continue button to gain
  11. Again click on the continue online payment tab
  12. Click on Pay now
  13. Now make your payment
  14. Select to print and take it to the bank
  15. For a bank, payment click print
