FUBK Application Requirements And Courses Offered – The Federal University, Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) is a federal University situated in the city of Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State of Nigeria.
FUBK was created on the 18th day of February 2013. On 5th March 2015, the University’s pioneer matriculation took place with a seconder coming up on 9th February 2016.
507 and 972 Undergraduate students were inducted into the University’s Academic Programmes in the first and second Matriculation Ceremonies respectively.
The Federal University, Birnin Kebbi currently runs three faculties plus a College of Health Sciences and offers 24 Degree Programmes including Nursing Science.
The University is currently operating two sites, an initial take-off site, and a Permanent Site. The former houses The Schools of Basic and Remedial Studies in addition to the Females Hostel at Kalgo while the latter houses the remainder of the University’s infrastructural and Academic edifices and is situated at Unguwar Jeji (a rural settlement about 4kn away from the initial take-off site).
Although the University is relatively new, it has continued to grow steadily over the years and continues to remain a center of learning and character grooming.

Admission Requirements For Admission Into FUBK
All Individuals seeking to pursue any of the available Programs at FUBK should meet the following requisite conditions.
For Those Seeking Admission To FUBK through JAMB UTME
- A minimum of 5 O’Level Credits (SSCE/GCE) obtained in no more than two sittings.
- Selection of the correct course combination for the intended course of study during JAMB UTME Registration.
- Candidates must have obtained a minimum score of 160 in the just concluded JAMB UTME Exams to be considered for Admission to the University.
- All Candidates to be considered must have registered FUBK, as their first-choice Institution
- Prospective Candidates must duly undergo the FUBK Post-UTME Screening Exercise to be considered eligible for admission into the University.
- All Applicants must be at least 16 years in the year of Application.
For Direct Entry (DE) 2024/2025 Students
If seeking Admission into the University through Direct Entry (DE), you must meet the following criteria to be considered for Admission to the University:
- All Candidates must obtain a minimum of 5 O’Level Credits (SSCE/GCE) obtained in no more than two sittings.
- Prospective Candidates must have passed two ‘A’ level/IJMB Subjects. The Subjects must relate to their intended field of Study
- Applicants must have obtained Passes in JUPEB/A subjects related to the intended field of Study to be considered for Admission into the University.
- Depending upon your choice of course of study at the University, a degree (First Class/Second Class Upper) in a related discipline may also be needed.
- All applicants must also have purchased the FUBKDirect Entry Form from JAMB. They also must have been duly registered and made all requisite payments on the FUBK Portal.
- Prospective Candidates must have passed the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma, or any other Advanced Certificate with a minimum of a merit pass

Is FUBK conducting post-UTME screening in 2024?
Yes
The Federal University, Birnin Kebbi shall conduct a Post-UTME Screening Exercise to sort out and subsequently admit qualified Candidates.
Currently, the screening form goes for a non-refundable fee of N2000 to be paid via REMITA.
What is FUBK’s cut-off point for 2024/2025?
The Governing Council of FUBK has set the cut-off point at 160 for the current session.
As such, all Candidates who scored a minimum of 160 in the just concluded UTME Exams have met the cut-off point requirement of the University for Admission Consideration.
Does FUBK accept second choice Admission Applications?
No
There are reports that FUBK accepts second-choice applications. This is not the case as this has been long discontinued.

What is the cost of Hostel Fees at Federal University, Birnin Kebbi?
The management of The University has made provisions for Hostel Accommodation within the Campus.
The actual amount payable for Hostel Fees at FUBK has not yet been fixed by the Governing Body of the School
However, from the history of prices obtainable from past Academic Sessions, it is estimated that the Accommodation Fee at FUBK for the 2024/2025 Academic Session will be between N25,000 to N35,000.
