On the First of July in 1983, the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa (FPN) was established by the federal government.

What actually prompted the Federal Polytechnic to establish the school was to reform society technologically.

With that in mind, the NBTE (The National Board for Technical Education) gave the authorization for the establishment of the school In Nasarawa State.

Admission Instruction for ND (National Diploma)

To be admitted into a Federal Polytechnic for National Diploma program, the following are required to be admitted.

1. To be sure of getting admitted, Check out your departmental and faculty criteria before applying to be sure of admission. 
2. Another criterion is to make sure to meet up the school’s cut-off point. During the screening procedure, it will be required for admission
3. In order to be qualified or admitted into the school of your choice is that you must get up to 5 credit passes in the relevant courses you are applying for in your O levels result like WAEC, NECO, SSCE, And NABTEB.
4. Before applying for admission, be sure to be of age 16 in the year of application.

Admission Instruction for HND (Higher National Diploma)

To be admitted into a FPN for Higher National Diploma program, the following are required to be admitted.

1. To be admitted into Polytechnic for the Higher National Diploma program, you must have in your 2.50 in your ND CGPA result.
2. One more requirement for getting admitted to the HND program is your Industrial Training Experience, your post-ND Industrial Training Experience will be required.
3. Your five credit passes in your O’Level will be required for entrance to the HND program
