The then polytechnic was established in 2002, 12th of November by the Delta State government. That was during the administration of His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori.

Requirements for Delta State University of Science and Technology through Direct Entry:

  • Candidates must have at least a minimum of 5 credits passed in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) or an Ordinary Level Credits not more than a maximum of 2 sittings.
  • Direct Entry candidates should have a minimum Merit Pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), Advanced Level Certificates, and  National Diploma (ND).
  • Aspirants must have First Class/Second Class Upper Degrees in their related fields of course of their choice.
  • Having JUPEB/A Level passes in departmental-related subjects is very necessary.
  • Direct entry candidates who want to gain admission into Delta State University of Science and Technology are to purchase the Direct Entry form through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) And the school’s Portal.
  • Aspirants must have First Class/Second Class Upper Degrees in their related fields of course of their choice.
