Background of the  Kano University of Science & Technology,

The Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), as it was known earlier before it was renamed, is located in the town of Wudil. The effort to establish the Kanu State University of Science and Technology citadel of learning started with the then Governor of Kano state, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, during his first tenure between 1999 through 2003. The process of establishing the institution came to an end in 2003 when the school was founded. 

The university is a state-owned public university, that was established to encourage young people to further their education after secondary school. It goes with the Motto: learn, work, and worship. The university leadership is anchored on Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, the Vice Chancellor of the University.

It will interest you to know that the KUST has grown so fast in all areas, so much that, in the last few years ago, the university was ranked as the number 123rd best university, in the list of best universities in Nigeria. In 2022, the university was renamed after the African number one business tycoon Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, by the Governor of the state Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Although the school is a newly established institution, the KUST prestigious citadel of learning is also a member of the Association of the Commonwealth Universities. Right now the university is no longer to be referred to as  Kano University of Science & Technology but as Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST). The university’s first academic session activities commenced in the year 2001

As per the university’s academic structure, The Kanu State University of Science and Technology has 46 (forty-six) National Universities Council courses, and the school has about six faculties which include; the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science,  Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of management Sciencesand the College of Medicine. Acceptance fee is a compulsory fee that every newly admitted student of any institution in Nigeria is meant to pay as a form of authenticating their admission offer. It is important that freshmen pay their acceptance because not paying the fee is as good as not writing the aptitude test. What that means is that failure to pay the fee will amount to the forfeiture of the said students’ admission. Moreso, if you have been offered admission, you are to pay the sum of N5,000 as an acceptance fee.
