About Rotary Peace Fellowship Program

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is a program that seeks to establish global peace through conflict resolution and prevention. That is why every year, the Rotary Peace Fellowship, will choose about 90 (nine) people for a fellowship. 

People who will do their masters programs in peace and conflict resolution or who want to obtain a professional development certificate. The program will take place in any one of the centers all over the world, such as SA, Japan, the UK, Australia, Sweden, and Uganda.

This is to inform the general public that the Rotary Peace Fellowship is now accepting applications for the 2024/2025 academic year. However, every aspiring candidate for the fellowship has the opportunity to apply for the scholarship from the time it was open till 15 May, for the submission of The Rotary Foundation applications. After the submission is closed, from 1st July,  the Rotary endorsers are expected to submit their endorsements to The Rotary Foundation.

The Fellowship Eligibility 

All the Master’s degree candidates should take note of the following eligibility factors.

  • The English Language is needed from applicants for the fellowship
  • You should possess a bachelor’s degree
  • Have a strong commitment to bringing peace to a cross-cultural society
  • You should have the leadership potential
  • You are expected to have a minimum of three years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work
  • Certificate program applicants should have a minimum of five years of related work experience in peace and conflict resolution and development
  • Those who are not eligible for the fellowship are Active Rotary members and employees of the Rotary Club.
  • Candidates with disability are encouraged to apply.
  • record of personal or community service and  exhibit their academic achievements 

Application process

For your application to receive due consideration, follow these steps:

  1. Review the eligibility restrictions.
  2. In each of the Rotary Peace centers, find out the curriculum and programs.
  3. Engage with Rotary. The Club Finder will help you to locate your nearest Rotary club.
  4. Submit your application by 15 May. Applications require:
    •  Resume, 
    • Academic and/or professional recommendations, 
    • Essays, 
    • Transcripts from postsecondary colleges and universities 
    • Masters candidates must have English language proficiency test scores
    • Social impact plan (certificate only).
    • All materials must be in English.

5. Get endorsed. In early June, if your application meets the qualification and eligibility criteria, Your assigned endorser will submit an endorsement decision for your application.

6. Email notifications will be sent in November if you are selected

7. Masters students should apply for admission to the Peace Center University located close to you

The Rotary Peace Fellowship Program is not everywhere in the world, rather, it is hosted by selected countries around the world. Some of those countries are listed below. They are:

Level of Program:

The Rotary peace fellowship program has different programs. The fellowship is seeking students who want to pursue Professional Development Certificate Program or Master’s Degree Program in a peace, conflict resolution, and prevention-related field. There are two of them. They include:

  • Master’s Degree Program
  • The professional development certificate program

Rotary Peace Scholarship Duration

The question here is how long will take to complete the Rotary peace fellowship program. That is the question, we are going to answer in this section. One thing you should know is that all the programs do not carry the same study period, they differ from one program to another. Now let us look at the study period for master and professional development certificate programs.

  • Master’s Degree Scholarship 2024: for those applying for the master’s degree program, your study period will span from 15 to 24 months
  • Professional Development Certificate Program: for those applying for the Professional Development Certificate Program, your study period will span between one year and a few months.

How to Apply for Rotary Fellowship 2024?

  • Submit an online application to the Rotary Foundation
  • Provide all the relevant documents.
  • The endorsement online submission of the fellowship to the subcommittee will not close till July 1st.
  • Confirmation for the endorsement of the application will be sent.

The Fellowship Selection process
