This board manages the student’s special assistance program and also the bursary award program. The programmer gained approval to operate in the year 2004 from the state government. It was a replacement for the former bursary regime.
The program was aimed to increase seriousness and also encourage students with strong academic performance of their need to go to school.
That is why the program is awarded to students who have a GPA of 2.2 and above. Also, the program is only for students who are already in a recognized /accredited public institution or university, polytechnics, and college of education doing a regular program
Delta State Government Scholarship Scheme 2023/2024 Application
The Delta state government has made provisions for scholarships for the indigenes of Delta. By indigenes, it means persons from any of the local governments listed above. Once you have met the criteria you are advised to apply.
The requirement or criteria for the scholarship includes
- All applicants should have a valid means of identification (NIN, Driver’s License, Passport, etc.)
- Have a GPA not less than 2.2 in their previous academic examination year.
- Only for applicants that are in a registered institution (universities, polytechnic, college of education, etc.)
- Only undergraduate students (masters, PGD, and Ph.D. students are not eligible).
- Applicants must be in their second year of education or above and in polytechnic ND11 and HND11 and for college of education NCE 11-11
- Also, all applicants should indicate their year of study and their level of study. Also, they should indicate their department and course of study.
How Much is the Cost of the Application Form
The delta state scholarship application form is totally free. As such you are to be careful of a person who wishes to scam you in the name of getting a scholarship application fee from you.
The only money you will have to pay is the online processing fee during your registration and the money is non-refundable.
The total amount that is stipulated for the online processing fee is 800 naira. Payment of this money is done using debit cards online during your registration process.
Please note that there is no registration fee but an online processing fee.

How to Apply For the Delta State Government Scholarship
To apply for the scholarship follow the steps below
- Using your preferred browser log on to https://dsbsb.dl.gov.ng/user/new-application
- fill in your personal details, your academic details and your account details
- you will be requested to write an essay as to why you think you should get the scholarship
- you have to upload your passport
- Also, you have to upload scanned copies of your educational qualification
- Pay the online process fee of eight Hundred Naira
- After successful payment and application, you will have to print an acknowledgment slip
- The acknowledgment slip can be printed and can also be saved as a soft copy to your gadget for future use. (Note that it will be needed during the screening process).
Note
After registration, all candidates will be verified before they can be considered for the scholarship. As such you have to be alert as o when the verification process is as this will sort out all applicants with errors, or incomplete application.
You shouldn’t be left out during the application process as you might be automatically disqualified.

The board of delta state government scholarship has announced the opening date for application/ registrations for the scholarship. The opening date is on the 27th of January 2023.
