About NMU
Abbreviated as NMU, the Nigeria Maritime University was founded in 2012. It is a public university owned by the federal government of Nigeria but is located in Okerenkoko, Delta State. NMU has officially been accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The leadership of the university is rested on PROF EMMANUEL MUNAKUROGHA ADIGIO (MNSE, MNIM), the Vice Chancellor of the institution. From the university regiment unit, it has Emperor D.O. Alago as the first Chief Cadet Captain and Cadet Adjutant, of the university.

Is the NMU Post UTME Form Out?
I know that most of you have been worried about the sale of the NMU Post-UTME form, and it is quite unfortunate that the NMU Post-UTME form is yet to come out and therefore, it is not on sale for now. So you have to exercise patience till it’s released and we will let you know.
How Much Is the NMU Post UTME Form?
The NMU post-UTME form is the same as what other schools are paying. It is not too expensive anyways. But if you have been offered admission to study any course at the university, you are to pay a non-refundable Post-UTME form fee of N2,000 (two thousand) naira only.
Requirements Criteria
Every applicant must fulfill the following requirements and criteria for them to be qualified to participate in the Post-UTME screening test.
- You must choose NMU as your first choice
- Must have scored up to the required cut-off mark of JAMB
- Applicant must obtain the UTME form and pay the sum of N2,000 fee
- And also must sit and pass the Post-UTME
General Requirements
There are two different admission methods at Maritime University. The two methods are;
- direct entry admission
- JAMB UTME admission

JAMB UTME Admission Requirements
UTME is the first method that aspiring students can apply for admission into the NMU. the requirements for students under this category (UTME) are listed bown and below:
- A minimum of 5 credit passes is accepted for O’level results, and that includes Mathematics and English in addition to three other courses related to their course of study.
- To be qualified for the NMU aptitude test, candidates must score a minimum of 60 in the just concluded JAMB UTME,
- Candidates’ O’level results that are more than 2 (two) sittings will not be accepted
- 16 years and above is the minimum age for all applicants
- The right subject combination as prescribed by JAMB should be chosen
- Candidates must meet the school cut-off point to be considered for admission, at NMU.
Direct Entry Admission Requirements
UTME is the first method that aspiring students can apply for admission into the NMU. And the requirements for students under this category (Direct Entry) are listed bown and below:
- A minimum of 5 credit passes is accepted for O’level results, and that includes Mathematics and English in addition to three other courses related to their course of study.
- To be qualified for the NMU aptitude test, candidates must score a minimum of 60 in the just concluded JAMB UTME,
- Candidates’ O’level results that are more than 2 (two) sittings will not be accepted
- 16 years and above is the minimum age for all applicants
- The right subject combination as prescribed by JAMB should be chosen
- Candidates must meet the school cut-off point to be considered for admission, at NMU.
- Applicants must obtain the JAMB Directly entry form from JAMB
- OND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, and other certificates are required from all applicants.
NOTE: Nigeria Maritime University also runs postgraduate programs for those who want to pursue a postgraduate program.
Documents Required
Those that have been offered provisional admission to study at the NMU, are required to come for screening with certain recommended documents. Therefore, all the 100 level students, you are expected to come for screening with the following list of items:
- Evidence of Payment of All Fees
- Original JAMB Admission Letter
- Original UTME Notification of Result
- Original SSCE/NECO/GCE, while private candidates are to come with five photocopies of computer-printed copies of their results
- Candidates should come with an original and Five Photocopies of their SSCE results and must be duly certified and stamped by their principal
- Original and Five Photocopies of Two (2) Letters of Reference from a Reputable Clergyman/Imam/Senior Civil Servants
- Birth Certificate/Sworn Declaration of Age
- Original and Five Photocopies of Local Government of Origin or State of Origin Certificate
- 2 (twelve copies) of Passport photographs with red background
- Original WASC, GCE, and NECO Certificates copies are required from those candidates who graduated before 2015
- The school will not accept candidates who use an affidavit in lieu of a statement of result or for correction of names
- Candidates must also present a University Health Centre Medical Card
NMU Post UTME Application Procedures
To apply for the NMU Post-UTME, follow the procedures below:
- Log in to the official website https://www.nmu.edu.ng/.
- Create an account.
- Fill out the form completely and correctly
- Generate your payment invoice.
- Use the link sent to your mail to make the payment.
- Or you can use the RRR to make payment at any bank approved by NMU
- Return to the portal after payment for registration.
- Enter the RRR
- Click login to confirm your payment.
- Fill in your bio-data information
- Then upload your recent passport photograph,
- Upload your JAMB result
- Upload O’level results,
- Cross-check all your details
- Click Submit
- Print out your payment slip
Requirements for Regiments
For candidates’ regiments, there are items or materials that all applicants must obtain. Such requirements are as follows:
- A life jacket is compulsory for everybody
- White Round-neck T-Shirt
- At least 3 pairs of White Pair of Shorts
- Pairs of White canvas shoes
- Pairs of White socks
- Personal attire or candidate’s casual wear
Deadline
Since the management of Nigeria Maritime University has not officially released for sale the Post UTME form, they have not also released the application deadline also. But keep checking from time to time.
