Abia State University is one of the universities that is owned by the state government. The university is a public university that was birthed in 1981.
Its motto is Excellence and Service and its chancellor His Royal Majesty Tor Tiv James Ayaste, Vice Chancellor Professor Onyemachi Maxwell Ogbulu.
The university has a total of twenty thousand four hundred students. Located in Abia state Uturu having both urban and suburban campuses.
