The Albukhary itself is a charitable organization, whose aim is to focus on promoting access to outstanding education in Malaysia.
The school has donated some funds to make this competitive scholarship based on academic merit and financial need possible.
Albukhary Scholarship
The Albukhary Scholarship is a foundation Scholarship from a Malaysian charitable trust, named Albukhary Foundation that is awarded a donation.
Their work is to provide awarded students with the best education and they provide for the needy with financial assistance for their higher education as well.
The scholarship funds for 3 years of study continuously, what they do is, every year they renew the payment as long as the student gives them a Satisfactory Progress.
It has been made known that the scholarship provides about 20,000 pounds for the space of three years of academic sessions.
The Albukhary Scholarship program was established in 2005, the main purpose of this is to provide help to those who are not able to pay for their fees. They are granted access to higher education at no cost.

Requirements which are Needed for the Scholarship
Here are the requirements for applicants who want to apply for the Albukhary International University. When you must have met your requirement you will be called for an Interview.
- Applicants must reach the age of 18 and 22 years old.
- The Applicant must be single, the scholarship is for a single candidate
- Household income below:
- USD 300 for an international applicant
- MYR 2,400 (Sabah and Sarawak)
- MYR 5,300 (this is for candidates who are in W.P Kuala Lumpur, W.P Putrajaya & W.P Labuan)
- MYR 2,900 ( this fund is for those in Perlis, Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, and Pahang).
The Albukhary Foundation Scholarship is very competitive. As such, Students are shortlisted for the scholarship based on their academic merit and financial requirements.
Process of Application
The following document is to be submitted and uploaded when making the application online on the Albukhary Foundation Scholarship
Write a 500-word count of Personal Statement describing the following:
- Why do you make a good candidate?
- Why should the scholarship committee consider you?
- Describe what feature goals the scholarship helps you achieve.
- Give Evidence of one’s financial condition that states the total household income plainly
- Scholarly reference
- What Sources of any extra funding you may have access to
The Albukhary Scholarship Interview Factors
After that, the students have to go through an interview session, where they have to pass on the following factors:
- Socio-Economic Status
- Communication Skills
- Personality
- Attitude
At the end of everything, final decisions are given based on the interview, the scholarships are renewed every year, only if the candidate maintains their academic performance.

Things to take Note of about Albukhary International University
- Scholarship can be combined with other scholarships
- Candidate has to submit proof of nationality when the scholarship is non-negotiable.
- For your information, the scholarship is paid in two installments every year over three years.
- The scholarships are renewed every year for the minimum duration of the course undertaken.
- Any students who need a Student Visa to study are given the chance to work for up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during any vacation periods.
