If you have a high score in your Jamb, the next thing to focus on is your post-UTME score. Because you scored well in your JAMB does not mean that you will do well in the aptitude test, so study hard and prove your readiness to get admission, by getting a high post-UTME score.
JAMB and POST UTME is not the same, so don’t relent whether you passed your JAMB excellently or not. This is one of the reasons why most students fail to gain admission with their high scores in JAMB.
Seek Admission in Your State (Catchment Area)
Whether you are seeking admission to a state or federal university, let it be a university situated in your state of origin. You will have the advantage of being considered for admission first when a university is located in your state or a neighboring state. That is what the catchment area can do for you. Candidates from the state are always admitted first, with preference given to applicants from other nearby states. Less Competitive Courses

You are more likely to get admission to a less competitive course than prominent and competitive courses that almost every student with very high scores is seeking.
