AERC Application Requirements/Qualification

What are the qualifications and the requirements that applicants need to meet before they can be qualified to apply for the AERC scholarship program? 

  • Ensure that you have already applied to any of the Universities listed for the CCP scholarship, and be sure that you have been granted admission to that university, that is the first criterion.
  • The second condition is that applicants must ensure that they obtain a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in their results.
  • Applicants must be holders of master’s degrees in  Economics, Agricultural Economics in a relevant field, from a recognized institution.
  • The candidates’s master’s degree must have coursework and its component, The area of coverage of such coursework includes the following microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative methods, and econometrics;
  • Applicants who have a publication in a recognized journal will be an added advantage 
  • Candidates must show evidence that they have been involved in any of the following economic management, research, and/or training in the public sector.
  • Candidates from post-conflict and fragile states, especially females, (for the AERC Ph.D. Bridge Programme alumni class of 2017 and 2018) are free to apply for the scholarship

After a successful application, those candidates who have been offered admission will be given an admission letter, the admission letter signifies that such candidate can proceed with other admission processing.
