2. Air Force Military School in Nigeria

The Air Force Military School was founded when there was a need for a workforce in the combatant commission of the Nigerian Air Force. The ESTABLISHMENT ORDER 3/80 gave birth to the Air Force military school of Jos.

Air Force Secondary School, P/Harcourt

The Air Force secondary school was founded in 1991, with the aim of giving quality education to the children of top Nigerian civilians and Nigeria Air Force personnel.

The school is situated along Aba Road, Rumuomasi, River State. This school has Wg Cdr OJ Kaka as their head, assisted by other heads of departments and vice principals. The school is a mixed school for both boys and girls, and it is a day school.

Air Force Secondary School, Yola

Air Force Secondary School, Yola, is a mixed school for both boys and girls, and it is operating as a boarding school, even though it is mixed.

Air Force Secondary School, Yola was established on 16 May 2013 and started its first academic session in October of the same year. Wg Cdr AA Dogo is the pioneer Commandant of the school and he Is assisted by two Vice Principals, a Medical Officer, and other officers.

Air Force Secondary School, Kano

Air Force Secondary School, Kano is a mixed, boarding school. That is to say that both boys and girls can apply for admission to the school. It was on the year 13 May 2011, that the school was founded, and it was founded by the Establishment Order 9/2011; Referenced NAF/326/COPP.

Air Force Secondary School, Kano, commenced its first academic session on the 24 of October 2011. The student population at the inception was 110 with 116 staff strength.

Today the student population of the school is about six hundred and thirty (630). The staff strength has also increased to fifty-two (52) civilian teachers, including fifty-seven (57) instructors who are members of the Nigeria Air Force.

Air Force Secondary School, Makurdi

Air Force Secondary School, Makurdi, is a day school. That means no student is permitted to live in the school. The school is mixed, so therefore, both boys and girls are free to apply for admission at the school.

Air Force Secondary School, Makurdi, is located at Kilometer 10 along Makurdi Gboko Road. it was founded in 1983. The school is situated adjacent to the Nigeria Air Force Primary School, St Lawrence Catholic Church in the North, as well as the Protestant Church in the West.

 Mr Abimbola O Adesina, became the first principal of the school in October 1984, while Miss DO Arimah, was the first coordinator of the school. They have a population of students of 67, at the inception. Their staff were divided into 2 arms, 9 were permanent teachers and 8 were Corps members.

Presently, the population of the school has increased, and the school can boost about 607 students population.

Air Force Secondary School, Ikeja

Air Force Secondary School, Ikeja, is a day school. That means no student is permitted to live in the school. The school is mixed, so therefore, both boys and girls are free to apply for admission at the school.

The school was established in 1981, Its students at inception were 150, but now the population has increased to 1,445 students. 

In the last few years (2015,2016, and 2017), it has recorded excellent academic performances. The statistics of its WASSCE performance looks were 96.1%, 95.3%, and 98.4% in that order.

Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna

Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna, was established on 10th October 1983. is a boarding, school. That means no student is permitted to live in the school. The school is mixed, so therefore, both boys and girls are free to apply for admission at the school but have to live inside the school compound.

The students of the school at its inception were 72 students, and the first set of students for WASSCE and GCE were presented in 1988. It is doing well, as the population of the school has now reached five hundred and seventy-five (575).

In the same way, the staff strength of the school has also improved in number since the demand turned higher to one hundred and sixteen (116) civilian teachers, sixty-five (65) others are instructors from NAF.

4. Air Force Comprehensive Schools in Nigeria

Air Force Comprehensive School, Ibadan

Air Force Comprehensive School, Ibadan is a boarding, school, and it is a mixed boarding school for both boys and girls students. Since it is a boarding school, students are to live in the school.

Air Force Comprehensive School, Ibadan, was founded under the military administration of Oyo State, in 1991. Academic activities started in 1992, and the first commandant of the school was Sqn Ldr EC Nwankoju. The student population and staff strength of the school were 174 students, and 44 teachers, respectively.

Air Force Comprehensive School, Uyo

Air Force Comprehensive School, Uyo, was founded in 1999, and it is situated in Okop Ndua Erong in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area. it along 15 km North of Uyo.

 It is headed by a commandant and other board members, assisted by principals.

As of 1999, when the school started, it had a student population of 142 and a teaching staff strength of 32. Out of the number, 97 were non-teaching staff.

Today, Air Force Comprehensive School has 516 students and 74 teaching staff, with 52 permanent and 22 temporary staff. They have 105 non-teaching staff and 40 military personnel.
