Admission Requirements for National Diploma (ND)

If you are applying as National Diploma (ND) candidate who is seeking admission at the Ashi Polytechnic, you have to fulfill the admission requirements of the school. And now we are going to discuss the admission requirements for ND candidates. 

  • At least 5 credits pass in O’level results in WASSCE/NECO/GCE, including English Language and Mathematics, and the results should not two sittings
  • Candidates applying for ND should be up to the age of 16
  • They must have sat for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
  • Applicants must also reach JAMB official cut-off mark to be qualified for application.

Admission Requirements for Higher National Diploma (HND)

If you are applying as National Diploma (ND) candidate who is seeking admission at the Ashi Polytechnic, you have to fulfill the admission requirements of the school. And now we are going to discuss the admission requirements for ND candidates. 

  1. Applicant must have at least 5 credits passes in O’level results in WASSCE/NECO/GCE, including English Language and Mathematics, and the results should not two sittings
  2. Candidates applying for ND should be up to the age of 16
  3. They must have sat for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
  4. Applicants must also reach JAMB official cut-off mark to be qualified for the application
  5. Higher National Diploma prospective candidates must obtain a  National Diploma in a field relevant to their ND Programme 
  6. They have to possess a minimum of a lower credit (CGPA) of 2 in National Diploma 
  7. In some special cases, candidates with a minimum of two years post-qualification experience in the specified but with a passing grade may be considered for admission. 
  8. Candidates should have not less than twelve (12) months of supervised industrial experience, 
  9. All candidates into the HND programs must present a transcript, especially prospective candidates from other institutions.

Admission Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

Here we are going to focus our piece on the qualifications that will be required from those students who want to get admission into the school through Direct Entry into the National Diploma program.

  1. They are required to present G.C.E. Ordinary level or its equivalent
  2. Teachers Grade II, W.A.S.C., S.S.C.E. with four credit passes including Mathematics and English Language
  3. Also, any other two subjects from the following will be accepted: 
      • Economics, 
      • Business Methods, 
      • Principles of Accounts,
      • Literature in English,
      • Commerce, 
      • History,
      • Statistics, 
      • Geography, 
      • Government 
      • Agric Science/Biology
  1. Their O’level results should not be obtained in more than two sittings
  2. Four credit passes in relevant subjects as stated above  from NBTE-recognized Preliminary ND Programme
