How to Check Unity Schools Common Entrance Exams Result – Did your child or children take the recently concluded National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for 2023, conducted by The National Examination Council (NECO)?

This is to inform the general public and the candidates who took part in the entrance exam that NECO has finally released the results of the entrance examination, and candidates or their parents or guardians are asked to visit the NECO official portal to check their results.

Knowing that the result is out, the next line of action will now be checking the result, and in this article, we are going to give you details of the steps and a guide on how you can check your results online.

How to Check Unity School Common Entrance Exam Result

Gender and State Breakdown of the Examination

Considering that the exam was for both male and female pupils, let us check how many males and how many female pupils took the entrance examination. The breakdown is as follows:

According to the statistics of NECO, candidates of approximately 38,801 that registered for the examination were female and in the same vein, candidates of approximately 34,064 who registered for the examination were male.

The highest number of entrants was reported to have come from Lagos State with candidates (18,644), while the lowest number of registered pupils came from Taraba State with candidates of approximately 102.

National Common Entrance Examination Breakdown

Now let us look at the breakdown of the examination before we move to the result.

Below are the statistics of the NCEE according to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education.

Mr. Andrew Adejo presents the following as a breakdown of the conduct of the examination:

Number of registered students: 72,865 pupils registered

Pupils that sat for the exam: 69,829 sat for the examination across the country  

Number of absent pupils: 3,036 pupils were absent from the exam

Poor performance: 76 pupils achieving the highest score of 203,

Lowest score candidates: six pupils recorded the lowest score.

To check the result, we are going to follow two methods to achieve this, they are as follows:

First method:

  • Log in to the Unity Schools admission portal at https://ncee.neco.gov.ng/ 
  • Input Exam Year 2023
  • Input Exam Type (National Common Entrance Examination)
  • Input the registration number
  • Click on Check Result

Secondly method:

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is what you will see, immediately after you finish checking the result, you will see any of the following comments:

  • Qualified for Selection under National Merit
  • Qualified for selection under state quota
  • Not qualified for selection

Unity School Admission Criteria

What are the criteria for admission into the Unity Schools? As per the admission, Mr. Adejo stated that the following ratio will be followed to admit qualified candidates 

Merit candidates: The ratio stands at 60% for pupils on merit,

Equality of States; The ratio stands at 30% for equality of state

Exigencies:  The ratio stands at 10% based on exigency

States to Increase Registration

The following states have been advised to endeavor to increase their NCEE entrants. They are as follows: Adamawa, Bayelsa, and Kebbi states, this is a result of the increase made by Zamfara’s increase from 1,000+ to 2,091.
