Overview of UNIMAID
UNIMAId is a public federal university that is located in Maiduguri, Borno Nigeria. The university was established in 1975 and now it enrolls 25,000 students in different faculties, programs, etc.
The school is headed by Mal Ballama Manu who is the chairman Oba Lamidi Olayyiwola Adeyem who is the chancellor, also Professor Aliyu Shugaba who is the vice chancellor.
It operates an urban campus with English as its educational language. It is being nicknamed UNIMAID or UMAID. The school has affiliations with AAU, ASSU, NUC, etc.
Also, the school has about twelve faculties which include, agriculture, education, engineering, law management sciences, pharmacy, science, social sciences, veterinary science, arts, and a college of medical sciences.

The undergraduate student portal
This portal is for students, who gained admission into the university through the Joint admission and matriculation board examination. They are mostly high school levers and are categorized as undergraduates because they have yet to obtain a degree.

- Input your username which is your registration number (this is not your candidate registration number but your official school registration number).
- The box provided is for you to input your password, most people use their phone contact as their password. If you don’t have one you can request from the school and you will be given a login password. It will be sent to the email you registered with the school or the phone number you used for registration.
- Confirm the information you input that it is accurate
- Click on the sign-in button to login

The Postgraduate Portal
This is a portal that is made available for students who are pursuing their second degree in the university, they are a student from another university or the same university but working on their third or second degree. It can be a master’s, PhD, etc this set of students have a duration of two years to study in school.
Postgraduate student also needs the portal to be able to pay their fees, print their course registration form, their class admits cards, and their result, and possibly apply for hostel accommodation.
Their portal is quite different from the undergraduate portal. To access the portal you should follow the steps below

- On the portal, you can apply, see application guidelines, check your application status register, and login

- For student login, once you click on the button, you are supposed to input your username which is your registration number

The Institute of Education Portal
Currently, the Institute of Education at the University of Maiduguri is selling its application form for the 2023 sandwich contact session. The programs available include B.A. Edu, B.Sc Edu, B.Ed. Adult Education, B.LIs.
Entry requirements for this program include
100 level
TC 11 or a five credit pass which must include maths and English language in relevant subjects
200 level
HND or NCE or OND with a minimum of lower credit pass including maths and English in relevant subjects
The application process includes
- Visit the school Institute of Education’s official website
- Click on the portal,
- Click on apply
- Access the registration form
- Fill the form properly
- Click on the check box provided below
- Click on the register button
- You have successfully created a login credential that you will be using to login
- Access the login page with the details you just created
- You wi be redirected to a Remita checkout
- Use your valid email and phone number and process the payments
- Make payment using your card, and bank. For cards, an OTP will be sent to your phone by remita in your mail, that OTP is what you will use to complete your payments.
- For banks, you will use the RRR generated on the portal to make payments
- After you have successfully made payments, you will be redirected to your dashboard, to fill in your biodata, next of kin, etc
- After successful completion of the form, you confirm the information given and then click the submit button.
- You have to note that all information is to be provided and submitted before 30th October.
