About 3MTT

The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, is a program that is initiated as part of the Renewed Hope agenda, of the president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The aim of the program is to build Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to empower the digital economy of the nation, which will transform Nigeria into a net talent exporter. 

The program will be done in different phases, and the first phase of the program is for all the stakeholders such as:

  • Fellows,
  • Training providers, 
  • Partners, 
  • And placement organization

NOTE: this first phase, is executed in collaboration with NITDA. It is after this phase that the program will commence in full.

The Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, has made a public announcement that it is looking for suitably qualified candidates who will apply for the job of community manager for the ongoing 

This recruitment is aimed at producing 37 Learning Community Managers across Nigeria, who will serve as coordinators of the activities of Community members of the 3MTT program.

It further stated that 3MTT is a cluster learning system that will involve a certain number of learners, with structured contents, and needs to be supported by a team.

Role of the 3MTT Community Managers

The Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, has stated very clearly, the roles that are to be performed by the 3MTT community managers when they are recruited, and it include:

“Leading, building, and maintaining 3MTT’s community

The technical talent and its initiatives within the state, whether internally or externally, will be handled by these community managers.

The role is to ensure that this diverse group of aspiring Nigerian Technologists are trained as a tech workforce that will grab opportunities in the digital economy in their respective states.

Leadership Responsibility

Managers are to lead the community, owning the brand of 3MTT

In their different states, they will lead a brand of 3MTT, by overseeing existing and attracting new community members to follow the program. 

They are the ones who will build and own state-specific and regional strategies, outreach, and for their communities.

Building Responsibility

They are to build models, metrics of success, and growth strategies for the program.

They will ensure that there is a long-term success and growth of the 3MTT community in their states.

Supporting the team

Another responsibility of the managers is to support the team to develop. Also, they are to track metrics that will enable them to understand how learners are progressing and help in the selection process of the learners.

Overseeing things 

The community managers are meant to oversee the sourcing of the following:

  • Volunteer facilitators, 
  • Experts,
  • Venues, 
  • Hubs
  • And other stakeholders to host meetups
