In his speech, he stated that the digital Certificate involves a mobile and web-based application that is designed specifically for the candidates, Institutions, Individuals, Organisations, etc. One of the features of the platform is that users can have access to it easily, they can share, request as well and confirm certificates. The most interesting part of it is that, as a user, if you happen to forget your examination number or lose your examination number, you can recover it at any time.
How To Get WAEC Certificate Online
To get your WAEC Certificate Online, there are certain steps you must follow. In this post, I have stated the steps on how to get your WAEC Certificate online.
First Step: Create an Account
- The first thing you need to do is to create an account on the WAEC portal page, that is the login page. That is if you do not have an account with them already.
- Then click on the option to give “Certificate Access for candidate”.
- Your details will be needed on the next options, when that is done, key in your password and sign up.
- You will receive a one-time password OTP in your email address, copy the code and paste it in the space provided, then click on the submit to complete registration button.

Second Step: Your Examination Details
- From the options given, you have to select the year you wrote the exams and as well select the exam type, as for the date of birth, it is optional.
- Your WAEC examination number will be required, where you see the “candidate number field” when done filling the form, tick where you see ‘I have verified the information above’, then click on Access Certificate Button when done.
Third Step: Fund Your Wallet
- This is the part where you will need to fund your WAEC wallet with the sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N7500) to get access to the WAEC digital certificate.
- From the options given on the method of payment, click on Card Payment, when that is done, you will be redirected to a Flutterwave checkout page. Options will be displayed for you to choose how you want to make your payment, via Bank Transfer or Debit Card.
- When you have successfully made your payment, you will be redirected back to the WAEC portal with your funds with the specific amount.
NOTE: After making payment, the money cannot be refunded, that is if you are not able to get access to your WAEC certificate perhaps due to different reasons.
2-Fourth Steps: Verification Of Identity
- Before you can retrieve your result, the WAEC will make sure they are interacting with the real owner or the right person, so they will verify your identity before you can retrieve your WEAC result.
- Here are the means of Identification that are accepted on the WAEC portal: International Passport Number, BVN (Bank Verification Number), and NIN (National Identification Number).
- It is advisable to use NIN (National Identification Number), you can use any other means of identification only if the NIN does not work.
Fifth Step: Your Certificate
This is the part where you get access to your certificate, that is if the identity verification is successful, you will get your result in PDF format. You can download your results from there.
Sixth Steps: Store Your Certificate (Not Mandatory)
This part is optional. But if you want to keep the Certificate safe, you can always store it somewhere safe. Platforms like Cloud Storage. It is advisable to always store your certificate in a safe place. You could store them in iCloud or Google Drive.

How Many Days Does It Take To Process a WAEC Certificate?
To process your WAEC Certificate, the process may likely take Ten to Thirty days. After confirmation of payment, it may take ten working days to be made available.
